YOUR SUPPORT HELPS TO PROMOTE JUSTICE

LEAVE A MESSAGE OF SUPPORT & SOLIDARITY

Express your support or solidarity with the victims’ families and survivors, and leave a message on the virtual Support Board! We will ensure that they have access to it.

Thank you!

LEGAL SUPPORT

If you are a legal professional (attorney or advocate) with the right to practice in South Africa, experience in criminal law, and a passion for human rights, we would love to hear from you. While we cannot guarantee involvement in TRC cases, we are building a referral system and expanding our pool of partner lawyers.

Disclaimer: If pro bono support is not possible, we will agree on a human rights fee in line with our policies.

Joining us offers a unique opportunity to work alongside courageous survivors and families in their pursuit of truth and justice, while becoming part of a growing community of legal professionals engaged in this historic work.

EXPERTS

We are building a pool of experts to support families and survivors of apartheid-era crimes. If you are a counsellor, psychologist, forensic pathologist, ballistic or explosives expert, architect, or engineer (with experience in simulations), we would be glad to hear from you. Pro-bono contributions are especially valued.

RESEARCHERS & STUDENTS

We welcome students and universities with relevant expertise to collaborate with us on research projects, when the opportunities arise. If you are interested in partnering, please get in touch.

SUPPORT IN KIND

Not able to offer financial or expert support?

You can still make a difference by donating services or goods such as design, T-shirts, venue hire, or catering.

SUPPORT OUR PARTNERS IN SOCIAL JUSTICE SECTOR

You may also choose to support one of our partner organisations working in the areas of transitional and transformative justice, or human rights and social justice more broadly. In particular, we encourage you to consider supporting the South African Coalition for Transitional Justice, its member organisations, or community-based organisations supported by the FHR.

MAKE A DONATION

As a civil society organisation, the Foundation for Human Rights (FHR) depends on external support to pursue accountability for apartheid-era human rights violations.

If our mission, supporting survivors and victims in their pursuit of justice, truth, and reparations, resonates with you, please consider making a donation. These contributions will directly cover costs such as investigations, legal fees, expert services, and transport for families.

The donations will not be used for staff costs or overheads, ensuring every contribution goes towards justice and truth.

Your donation will be tax deductible as a section 18A certificate under the South African Revenue Service (SARS) provisions. If you require the Section 18A certificate, kindly get in touch with us.

The FHR is registered as a non-profit company in terms of Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013 (registration number: 1995/008044/08), and as a public benefit organisation with SARS (PBO reference number: 930025145).
